I went to see Blades of Glory yesterday. It ROCKED!!! Sadly, Matt has a vastly different sense of humor than I (he hated Napolean Dynamite and loved Austin Powers. Heresy). So he only laughed minimally. But I LOVED it. I like Will Ferrell and Jon Heder and Luke Wilson. I mean, come on. Any movie that stars Ferrell and Heder as male ice dancing partners has to be a crackup. My favorite part was this:
Ferrell (Chazz): Let's do this, man. Let's catch the dream.
Heder (Jimmy): Oooh, "catch the dream," I like that! Where'd you get that?
Ferrell (Chazz): I have no idea where I got that from.
(and then the camera pans out to show them at the Olympics, in front of a HUGE "Catch the dream" banner.)
Also I liked this part:
Jimmy: So Coach, I was thinking about the music for our routine.
Chazz: We're going to skate to one song, and one song only.
[starts singing]
Chazz: I'm gonna get you get you drunk, get you drunk off my lady humps. My humps, my humps, my lovely lady lumps.
Jimmy: How do you even know what that means?
Chazz: NO ONE knows what it means, but it's provocative.
Jimmy: No it's not, it's...
Chazz: It gets the people GOING.
Also, I liked this part (it went something like this):
Chazz: Dude, WATCH IT!! You could have cut off my balls!!! And unlike YOU, I actually USE my balls!!!
Jimmy: Yeah, well! Well!!! WELL!! You're right. You do use your balls, and I should be more careful around them. I'll try to be more careful next time.
Chazz: Huh. Thanks. And hey, I'm sorry for dragging your balls into this. It's not their fault.
Hah hah, good stuff. You should go see it. But only if you have a sense of humor that is the OPPOSITE of Matt Lybarger's.
